Returned from Glacier National Park a few days ago and was really missing the majestic mountains, lakes, and forest trails.  Then I looked out my window and was reminded we have the same thing in our backyard!  So, I gathered up the family for an afternoon of exploration up to Beehive Lake by Mission Ridge Ski Resort to check out what was beyond the unpaved, yet well maintained, road.  I had no idea the views we would see of the Wenatchee valley below and the expansive mountain ranges to the north.

The road to BEEHIVE/LIBERTY is an unmarked dirt road located on your way up to Mission Ridge Ski Resort.  You'll need to refer to a map to know exactly where to turn off.  The dirt road is wide and well maintained for all cars.  Beautiful colorful flowers in bloom everywhere.

My only regret is I didn't have my good camera to take better pictures!   I definately recommend exploring this easy scenic drive 20 minutes out of Wenatchee.  Pack a lunch and a chair and make it a picnic while gazing out over the beautiful valley.

You can hike, bike, horse ride, motorbike, atv, and drive most of these trails and roads.  Signs should be posted otherwise.   You can fish, kyak, and float on Beehive Lake for the ultimate relaxation.
