SMALLWOOD FARM

It's easy to pass by this simple and modest fruit stand as I have done a few times before on my way to visit friends in Okanogan.  But I had heard nothing but rave reviews about it, and wanted to see for myself just how awesome this place really is.  And it is awesome!  You would never know what waits you inside until you take that first step inside the nostalgic front screen door of the old 1970's building, and see that this establishment is a legit fruit stand/restaurant/bakery/boutique/ice cream stop/espresso bar/and specialty food items waiting for you to explore and enjoy.  I think it has become my favorite fruit stand in North Central Washington.  In the family since the 1970's, they recently remodeled and made some BIG changes inside & out while maintaining the integrity of the small family fruitstand.

KITCHEN AND BAKERY ARE OPEN DAILY
Offering Breakfast & Lunch EVERYDAY!
Breakfast 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Lunch 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The new bakery produces fresh baked goods daily from scratch including their sandwich breads.  They use fresh, local ingredients whenever possible.  Cage free eggs are used in all their breakfast items along with real Washington potatoes.  Their meat is slow smoked and slow roasted for all of their menu items…no deli meats here! Same with side dishes, which are all made from scratch.

The best part is the beautiful outdoor seating overlooking the garden to sit, relax, and enjoy a meal.  (Limited indoor seating also available).  Free Wi-Fi.  And they serve beer on tap and local wines by the glass.

LISA BEE'S

Located just north of East Wenatchee on state route 2, Lisa Bee's fruit stand AND bistro is designed as one fabulous roadside stop for fresh fruit, baked treats, tasty sandwiches, gift items and a glass of WINE!  (OR beer if you prefer).  Just look for the big red roof building with indoor/outdoor seating and a large expanse of grass area to let the kids (or dogs) play.

Lisa Bee's has become the go-to place for more than just fruit.  Such as wine-tasting events, music on the lawn, coffee and wine dates, and much more.  What you'll experience is Lisa and her friendly staff serving up fresh baked goods and sandwiches in their own kitchen, local fresh fruits and vegetables from their own farms as well as other local suppliers, local wines sold by the bottle or glass, cold beer on tap, and unique retail items that are made in the good ol' USA, and the best peach milkshakes around.

Located in Peshastin, WA, one mile east of Leavenworth, Prey’s Fruit Barn offers a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, specialty foods, Northwest wine and ciders, and a gift shop.  Established in 1979 with a few bins of apples and pears from the family orchard, Prey's Fruit Barn has become an iconic land mark in Leavenworth to stop for fruits and other specialty items with a picnic area, restrooms, a huge parking lot, and a 100 ft. flag pole that proudly bears a 30 x 50 foot American flag.   The gift shop, appropriately called Dilly Dally's, is a quaint boutique of home decor, gifts, and body and bath products.

LONE PINE FRUIT & ESPRESSO

One of my favorite fruit stands in all of NCW is a 100+ year-old apple packing shed that has evolved into  a charming blend of old meets new.  Part fruit stand/ cafe/ gift shop, Lone Pine provides the freshest fruits from their own local farms, scratch made pies and baked goods along with sandwiches, hearty soups and old fashioned milkshakes, plus Northwest wines, craft beer and ciders by the glass, bottle or growler.   There is plenty of seating inside and outside to enjoy a piece of berry pie ala mode.

You'll also have fun perusing their wide range of eclectic gifts including handmade soaps, soothing lotions, jams & jellies, cookbooks, candles, cards for every occasion, local crafts, and more. Featuring many local artists from all around Washington State.

SUNSHINE FARM MARKET

The Sunshine Farm Market first opened in 1991 as a simple roadside fruit stand—not much more than a few bins of apples under a shade canopy.  Now, 27 years later, Sunshine Farm is a full service market selling cheeses, meats, artisan bread, locally roasted coffee beans,  jams, jellies, sauces, dressings, mustards, a great selection of road food--popcorn, candy, and other snacks.  They also carry several lines of local and natural botanically-based face and body products.  Picnic tables outside to stay awhile, have a snack and take in the view.

Each summer, Sunshine Farm is host to a few goats from Pine Stump Farms in Omak.  Pine Stump is a small, sustainable goat dairy that produces milk, cheese, and meat.  The goats there (and also the land and other animals ) are well treated and the farmers make a modest and sustainable living off their small farm business.  The goats are super sweet and very happy to hang out in Chelan for the summer.

ESTE'S FRUIT STAND

Estes has estate grown fresh fruit and vegetables, but what really steals the show are the hundreds of Lady Bug hanging flower baskets they sell out every summer season. Something like 1,500 baskets are prepared early every spring by the owners themselves, Victor & Autumn Garibay.  You can tell Victor and Autumn take great pride in carrying on a tradition that started back in the 70's by original owner, Joan Estes, by the impressive greenhouses they beautifully maintain.  After getting drunk on colorful flowers, you can't help but walk away with a new flower pot to put on the porch.

  • Fresh fruits and vegetables of the season from their own farms as well as from other local producers.

  • Large selection of jams, honey, pickles, and other jarred goods.

  • Lady Bug Hanging Flower baskets.

  • Beautifully landscaped grass and pond area to sit and rest around.
